NDT Advocacy Takes Center Stage: ASNT to Host Groundbreaking 'Day on the Hill'

Washington, D.C. – On March 11, 2025, the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) will host its inaugural 'Day on the Hill,' bringing together NDT professionals to highlight the essential contributions of nondestructive testing to safety, infrastructure integrity, and economic development. This significant event will focus on advocating for increased support for the NDT industry and addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals.

Highlighting NDT’s Impact Across Industries

The two-day event will feature direct engagement between ASNT members and Congressional representatives to underscore the importance of NDT across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and transportation. Discussions will focus on the vital role of NDT in preventing structural failures, enhancing public safety, and supporting economic growth through reduced operational costs and extended asset lifespans.

“This initiative brings the expertise of NDT professionals to the forefront,” said Neal Couture, ASNT CEO. “Our goal is to collaborate with policymakers to promote workforce development, innovation, and investment that will strengthen the field of nondestructive testing.”

The event begins with a preparatory session for participants, ensuring they are equipped to discuss ASNT’s advocacy priorities effectively. The second day will feature scheduled meetings with lawmakers, addressing critical issues such as workforce shortages and the growing need for trained NDT experts in industries like aerospace and energy.
