Electromagnetic Testing inspection is an NDT method that uses the principle of electromagnetism to conduct examinations. One anvantage of ET as an NDT tool is the variety of inspections and measurements that can be performed. Electromagnetic Testing used to inspect parts of complex shape and size. is sensitive to small surface corrosion on inner surfaces, pits, cracks, subsurface cracks, and other flaws. ET is used within the military, petrochemical, commercial, aircraft and aerospace industries and it gives immediate results. Electromagnetic Testing can also be used for material or coating thickness measurements, heat damage detection, and conductivity measurements for material and alloy identification.
